Electroporation has become a very effective and convenient option for use in aesthetic medicine, thanks to the benefits and almost no adverse effects.
It is a technique that can be used for facial, body and hair treatments, both for cellular rejuvenation and for the reduction of cellulite and stretch marks.
What is electroporation used for?
Electroporation technology opens the pores of the skin and creates aqueous channels through which the active ingredients penetrate to the deepest layers of the skin.
This technique, therefore, facilitates the introduction of the active ingredients to layers where until now we could only access by means of injections. Thus, we achieved very good results, with no punctures or bruises.
As it is non-invasive, the recovery is immediate and can be applied by aesthetic medicine professionals without the need for medical degrees.
Application of electroporation
For its application, we use an electroporator, which, by means of waves, causes the opening of protein channels in the lipid layer of the skin. This temporarily open channel is not visible to the naked eye and closes immediately once the electroporator is no longer used.
Electroporation alone has no effect on the skin. It is the different active ingredients used that will produce the desired effect, whether it is moisturizing, tightening, rejuvenating, depigmenting or reducing cellulite.
Therefore, electroporation can be used for different purposes. Mainly for the reduction of body fat, cellulite, flaccidity, wrinkles, photoaging, stretch marks and hair problems. Depending on the objective of the treatment, we will use higher or lower frequencies to reach the subcutaneous tissue or deeper layers.
- Facial electroporation: the application of electroporation on the face and neck is intended for anti-aging treatment, expression lines and flaccidity.
- Body electroporation: using the same technique as in the facial area, transdermal electroporation can be used as a body shaper, for cellulite, stretch marks, treatment of localized fat and flaccidity.
- Capillary electroporation: through the use of electroporation, active ingredients can be introduced directly into the skin to stimulate the hair follicle. It serves both to prevent hair loss and to promote growth.
In addition to the innate effects of each active ingredient, electroporation promotes internal circulation, increases collagen and elastin production and cell regeneration.
Which assets can be electroporated?
The electroporator works with nanoencapsulated products. That is, with encapsulated compounds, since, as we know, not all active ingredients can penetrate the skin.
By working with nanoencapsulation, we can introduce active ingredients with molecular weights that would otherwise not be able to penetrate the skin, we manage to do so safely and release them at a specific time and even be released little by little.
Benefits of electroporation
It is a very comfortable, safe and painless treatment. This technology allows us to dispense with needles and other invasive effects to penetrate the skin with the desired products.
Its effects are spectacular, as the active ingredients act in deeper layers of the skin.
Contraindications
There are very few possible contraindications to electroporation. As it is a non-invasive technique, it does not produce adverse reactions in the skin, as does, for example, injected mesotherapy. At most, the treated area may redden slightly, but only for a few minutes.
In any case, its use should be avoided in pregnant women and in those with a pacemaker.
How many electroporation sessions are necessary?
This is a difficult question to answer, as it will depend on the type of skin and the objective of each person. The professional will determine the number of electroporation sessions necessary after a specific evaluation of each case.
In any case, at least 8 sessions are needed for the treatment to be effective. After the treatment is completed, it is customary to schedule recall sessions at regular intervals.
Although transdermal electroporation sessions are quick, it is best to clean and tone the area before starting the treatment. If the client comes with make-up on, make-up must also be removed. If the client comes with make-up on, make-up must also be removed.
